Fuchsberg Law Center is pleased to announce that it is currently seeking applicants for both full-year and semester long Visiting Professor positions for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The law school has a number of curricular needs but is especially interested in candidates specializing in Business Organizations, Civil Procedure, Property, and Trusts and Estates.
Visiting faculty are responsible for teaching and assessing law students in a subject matter of law in which they have a significant professional experience.
With one of the most diverse student bodies in the country Touro Law Center is dedicated to the aims of diversity.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare and teach professional-level law student courses in a physical classroom and/or a virtual classroom as assigned and scheduled by the Associate Dean for Academic AffairsPrepare course materials such as syllabi, assessments, final examinations, assignments, and handoutsTimely grade student assessments, exams, assignments, etc.
, and provide meaningful feedback to studentsMaintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist studentsMaintain accurate student recordsMaintain a regular physical presence at the Law CenterStay informed of changes in the law and remain current in recent statutory changes and case law developmentsCollaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issuesEngage in the intellectual life of the Law CenterOther duties as assigned by the Dean and/or Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
Qualifications:
Education/ ExperienceJuris Doctor (J.
D.
) degree from an ABA accredited law schoolPrior teaching experience of the subject(s)Knowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesCommitment to teaching in an environment dedicated to excellence in teaching and mentoring of studentsTrains and teaches othersInterprets the meaning of informationAbility to make decisions and solve problemsResolves conflicts and negotiates with othersUpdates and uses relevant knowledgeExhibits excellent interpersonal skills in communications with supervisors, peers, and subordinatesDisplays excellent organizational skillsPhysical DemandsExtensive Use of ComputersExtensive time sitting and standingAble to lift up to 5 lbs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
